Product Description Take a New Look at Raven! BIOLOGY is an authoritative majors textbook focusing on evolution as a unifying theme. In revising the text, McGraw-Hill consulted with numerous users, noted experts and professors in the field. Biology is distinguished from other texts by its strong emphasis on natural selection and the evolutionary process that explains biodiversity. The new 8th edition continues that tradition and advances into modern biology by featuring the latest in cutting edge content reflective of the rapid advances in biology. That same modern perspective was brought into the completely new art program offering readers a dynamic, realistic, and accurate, visual program. To view a sample chapter, go to www.ravenbiology.com

Covers Everything You Need to Know as a Freshman Bio Major December 13, 2009 Michael Allen Potter (Deutschand) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This book covers fundamental concepts of genetics, ecology, biochemistry, cladistics, evolution, radiometric dating, cellular division, descriptions of all of the body systems and how they compare to those of other animals, etc...over 1000 pages of useful knowledge for Bio majors and interested laymen. Some people gave this book a low rating..well, almost every single one was due to a complaint concerning the seller of the book...REMEMBER RATE THE QUAILTY OF THE PRODUCT not the seller!!!
Very good book for any biologist January 31, 2010 gothica0904 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is what my Biology teacher recommended most on a list of similar books for the class. This particular book is easy to read and contains more illustrations than most Biology books, thus making the class much easier to learn in. Any student who is currently taking Biology should look into reading this book.
Works for me September 19, 2009 Rainbow_Mommy 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
This book was in really good condition.
Arrived in time frame promised and it's the right book, which is always a plus.
Great Condition! October 1, 2009 E. Douglas 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
It was in great condition when I received it! My only qualm is I wish that the description for this book under this seller would have noted that the CD does not come with this book. I fully expected to receive the CD that goes with the book since I was buying a "NEW" copy. Other than that. It's wonderful!

i had to order this book for a college course and it was worth the money i saved about 100 dollars by ordering online instead of buying on campus. I was in really good shape and came fast.
